RE: chassis battery charge ?
"No they’re not “designed” to sit longer."
Of course motorhome chassis, drivetrains and bodies are designed with extended storage in mind -- that's what people routinely do with them, so all that's taken into account by component engineers in their durability and longevity objectives. And because they are, the vehicles can survive certain things (including neglect) that a Ferrari V-12 supercar might not tolerate as well.

RE: freshwater pump maddening problem
I have no idea if this could be your problem, but from the Shurflo manual: "The pressure switch on the pump is set to shut
off at 55 psi. If the switch or by-pass
are adjusted too much, the by-pass and
switch shut-off can overlap and THE
PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF....WARNING: If full by-pass is reached before the shut-off setting, the pump will not shut off. Full by-pass pressure setting should be at least 10 psi higher than pump shut off pressure."

RE: SEEKING TOW VEHICLE VALUE??
I'm not familiar with the current crop of pricing guides, but in years past always found Edmunds to be one of the more realistic and accurate evaluators.

RE: chassis battery charge ?
There's manual and automatic battery chargers (larger) and trickle/float maintainers (smaller). The manual devices will charge whenever plugged in and can ultimately overcharge a battery if not monitored. A bit more expensive, the automatic or "smart" devices will automatically monitor battery voltage and turn on or shut off as required, so some of those you can safely leave attached to a battery 24/7. New/used car lots often have small solar chargers they'll leave on a car.

RE: chassis battery charge ?
Motorhomes are designed to sit longer if needed without driving. If it was mine I might drive it once or twice a month, and of course the alternator will charge the engine battery even while parked and idling. But a more efficient means to charge the battery would be a plug-in trickle/float charger/maintainer as others have mentioned (as little as $10 at Harbor Freight) or a small solar trickle charger you can leave attached, the latter even more helpful in storage lots without electricity. You shouldn't need to drive an RV to charge the battery, there's better ways to do that. You can buy a $10 voltmeter at Harbor Freight to check voltage if needed, fully charged should be roughly 12.6 to 12.7 volts. As for frequent short drives, water condensation can accumulate in the motor oil without it being evaporated out, it becomes acidic and can lead to sludge and related lube issues over time.

She'll be a nice vintage camper once you address those few rot patches. Still has quite a few trips left in her, plenty more outdoor fun to come on the cheap. I respect that.

RE: Bulb out
"My advice, if it has bulbs, get a kit and replace ALL of them, not just the burned out one."
Good advice. Me agree, especially after going to the trouble of pulling off a given dash panel, which occasionally requires significant time and effort.

RE: Bulb out
You must be visiting the wrong online enthusiasts forums. The one I frequently visit for my tow vehicle is routinely visited by independent mechanics who've specialized in that vehicle for decades and sometimes know it almost as well as the factory engineers. And they routinely offer expert advice with a knowledge base that often exceeds that of sometimes younger dealer mechanics. Yes, there's novice, sometimes bad advice in such forums, but there's also wisdom from 20 year master mechanics who specialize in that marque. You just have to sort through that.

I vote for Plastic-Mend! Much cheaper than another tank swap.
Adding to what Jffnkrn mentioned, make sure to Google "RV dump stations/sites" such as Sanidumps and RVDumpSites. Also your municipal and county public works departments, which sometimes offer dump service at their sewage treatment facilities.

RE: Bulb out
It depends. You might ask your dealer's service department or email them a question. Or search for an answer (or post a message) on an online enthusiasts' forum for your specific make/model of vehicle (or even a generic auto forum). Some component failures are aberrations, but from my experience they're trends, so others with the same vehicle have likely experienced the same bulb failure and have dealt with it. Anyone you query will need to know your make, model and year of vehicle.

RE: Uncle Tony on Rivian Trucks and Parking Garage Fire
Or perhaps "Uncle Tony" (how warm n' fuzzy) is simply using the common social influencer ploy. Say controversial things to get attention... generate attention... raise the online eyeball count... generate additional revenues... lather, rinse, repeat. Boring competence doesn't always sell well, but exciting gibberish can be a lucrative moneymaker on the InterTubes. See "Kardashian."

RE: Uncle Tony on Rivian Trucks and Parking Garage Fire
After reading through part of the fire video transcript (didn't bother watching it), "Uncle Tony" comes across as a low information conspiracy theorist who searches for "facts" to confirm his personal biases. Apparently that fire originated in a decade old diesel SUV. And that, in turn, apparently confirms that...modern EVs suck and are inherently unsafe and will kill us all. Yeah, I asked my German Shepherd to explain that and he couldn't either, but he suggested it might make sense if drunk. Then the Shepherd shocked me by uttering, "A statistical sample of one proves absolutely nothing." I'd suggest alternate activities to watching Uncle Tony videos, such as watching paint dry, shouting German obscenities at pigeons, painting secret coded messages on your toenails, etc.

Image above-right of recommended 36 inch long noise/pulse reduction hose loops as depicted in Flojet owner's manuals. Helpful for any brand or type of RV/boat water pump.
Text says "Note: To help reduce noise and vibration of the pump through the system use flexible lines on the inlet and outlet of the pump as shown above. Be sure to use lines rated to not collapse under pump vacuum." (Shouldn't be an issue with the reinforced thickwall hose previously mentioned.)

RE: Grey water use help
Howdy. I'll mention that in addition to the good responses here, make sure to read your RV owner's manual, assuming you have it. If not, you might search for a digital copy online or buy one on EBay or the RV dealer. If you find ANY trailer manual online, such as for a Fleetwood, etc., you might review that manual's winterizing section since it should have similar protocols to your Jayco.

RE: Strong urine smell in bathroom
"...5 pages of trying to help."
Bingo.
Off on a tangent, the issue of determining if a wastewater vent is...well, venting. If there's a removable rooftop rain cap over a vent, then you could likely drop down a piece of sprinkler pipe or other pokin' stick to check for an obstruction. But if the cap is permanently fixed, perhaps you could tie a large nut (as in nut and bolt) or similar to a heavy string and feed it down the vent pipe, see what that reveals. Or run an electrical extension cord past the cap, something substantial yet flexible. I wonder if anyone has ever ran water from a garden hose down a roof vent or if that's even a good idea since it's an air vent rather than a water pipe.
As for the 300 model toilet, based on prior posts...
-Research the 300 further online.
-Replace the seals (may not permanently resolve).
-Replace toilet.
-Keep toilet in place but attempt to seep full-strength, non-bleach antibacterial cleaner past the seals to kill off odor in the accumulated liquid goo (kill the bacteria = kill the odor).
-Dump several pails (at least 5 gal) of water down the toilet at the start of each trip to dilute subsequent blackwater contents, but not so much as to impact tank capacity.
-Spritz the entire toilet bowl with any household spray cleaner after each use, or a few times each day, a supplemental detergent "flush."
-Spray an antibacterial cleaner along the bottom of fixtures near the toilet (walls, bathtub, cabinets) so that it seeps under the fixtures and contacts anything yellow that could have gotten down there. (If you KNEW that was a problem, an enzyme pet urine spray may be a better choice.)
-Try a different blackwater chemical treatment if necessary.

RE: Electrical Question-Breaker panel does not cut all power
"I'm a fossil fuel guy. Have a Honda 3200i. It sips fuel and is quiet."
It's relative, but personally I've never encountered a quiet generator in a campground, same for gas lawnmowers -- they all detonate atomized gasoline, not a quiet endeavor. You can invariably hear them in adjacent campsites. It's partly that reason I only disperse camp, so I don't have to listen to the generator in the next space for hours. I'm more into the sights and sounds of nature. A Honda generator costs around $2,500, whereas my $200 solar panel charges my trailer battery in as little as 30 minutes. I don't don't use AC or a microwave, so I have no use for a generator.

You might look into a small solar panel too for camping. I have a portable 100 watt panel and dearly love it. It will even charge on a modestly overcast day, although of course it takes longer

RE: Electrical Question-Breaker panel does not cut all power
There are better battery disconnects, but you may get by with an inexpensive knob model -- see "swan battery disconnect." The recommended safe practice is to install it on the negative/black/- terminal, and the instructions may likely mention that. The oversized nature of the shutoff brings it potentially closer to other metallic items, including during a crash. Since the negative terminal is already grounded, that's not a problem, whereas the positive side will start sparking as soon as it contacts anything metallic. It's easy to check for parasitic draws using a $10 Harbor Freight multimeter (volt meter), you can Google that or watch a YouTube video.

RE: 30ft Travel Trailer how common in the US
I checked the online trailer dimensions, then carefully crunched the numbers and concluded you could fit precisely 17 kangaroos inside those Aussie rigs, along with 8 koalas and 12 cases of Foster's Lager. And then it's Party Time!!
